About Cheerio AI

Cheerio AI is a profitable, VC-backed AI automation company building intelligent products for large enterprises. We are backed by Artha VC and by operators and founders from Unacademy, Reddit, Elevation Capital and Dr Vaidya’s, and we serve VFS Global, IndusInd Bank, Meta and Hero MotoCorp. Over the last two years our valuation has grown 5X, which makes ESOP ownership here a real path to financial upside rather than a line on an offer letter.

Role overview

This is the person who fixes the UX debt the product currently carries. You will own the end to end experience for the flows that matter most, work from user research rather than only from specs, and raise the bar on what Cheerio AI ships.

You will align closely with Nishant on product scope and priorities. The role leads from first principles. It is not a wireframe execution seat.

Key responsibilities

  • Own end to end design for key product flows, from problem framing through shipped interface.

  • Run user research and customer interviews, and turn what you learn into design decisions you can defend.

  • Build and maintain the product design system so the interface stops drifting release to release.

  • Work directly with engineering through implementation, not just handoff.

  • Push back on scope and decisions that produce bad experiences, with a better option attached.

  • Set the quality bar for design across the team and raise it deliberately.

What we are looking for

  • 7+ years designing B2B SaaS products, with shipped work you can walk through in depth.

  • Ability to work from user research or interviews rather than only from written specs.

  • Opinionated about UX quality, with the reasoning to back it up. This is not a pixel-pushing role.

  • Experience building or owning a design system in a product that kept changing.

  • Comfort working closely with engineers and making the tradeoff calls that implementation forces.
